Although less green and environmentally friendly (noisy engines!), quad biking is quite physically demanding. Quads are small off road motor bikes with 4 wheels which can run along forest tracks and cobbled paths. They are easily driven and can climb steep landscapes as well as through shallow rivers. In Mauritius quad biking is available in the hunting reserves on the mountain sides or in the heart of the sugar or tropical fruit plantations. There are a variety of beautiful tracks for all levels.

DOMAINE DE L’ETOILE

 East

Varying excursions depending on the fitness level of the individual. 14 quads are available and a magnificent circuit of 3 hours long through vanilla and sugar cane plantations, through wild and lush countryside. On the way you can visit the old sugar mill at Ferney and the coffee museum. There are many stunning view points over the ocean and the mountains.

CASELA AND YEMEN PARK

 South West

Three 15km circuits are available on flat, uphill and downhill terrain through a reserve that homes many African animals. This property has a varying landscape and is particularly well suited to quad biking. The circuit is easy and open to all and can be changed and adapted to suit the group. The instructors and guides are professional. The circuits last one to two hours for the family or for children from 10 years old.

DOMAINE DU VALRICHE

 South

Five quads are available for a unique tour lasting 3 hours (9.30-12.30am) and in the afternoon (2.20-5.30pm). Flat plains, uphill and downhill slopes, climbs up to a platform where the views out onto a 500m waterfall are of this world.
