Three great addresses situated in the North of the island:

GRAND BAY GYM HYDRO SPA Open from 6am to 9pm Monday to Friday, from 7.30am – 7.30pm on Saturday and 9am – 1pm on Sundays. This place is a well known fitness centre for Mauritians and expatriates. There is also a health food restaurant, a 25 metre pool, a spa of which part of it specialises in ‘Balneo therapy’. The program includes body wraps, relaxing and toning baths, scrubs, and various massages. For a real pamper, the spa offers a half day of all round treatments. For example, the ‘so in Tonus’ treatment includes an aqua gym class followed by a fresh fruit juice, then swimming followed by the steam room, ‘balneo therapy’ and massage: after a healthy lunch in the restaurant at the gym, a Swedish massage with essential oils – The result?...You’re fit as a fiddle for the rest of the holiday! You can also just have a scrub to prepare your skin for the sun, or a relaxing massage at the end of the day or enjoy the steam room...

LE SQUARE BEAUTE This small beauty and treatment centre has also a hairdressing salon and is open every day from 9am to 7pm. (Treatments available are makeup, waxing, eye brow and eyelash tinting manicures and pedicures.) The centre is located around a courtyard where there is a small restaurant and 4 treatment rooms painted white. There if no space for a pool but prices are very reasonable for very good treatments: relaxing massages, Shiatsu session , reflexology, body scrub... The atmosphere is very pleasant and it is definitely a find!

SURYA Open from 9am to 7pm every day. This Indian spa offers traditional and spiritual ayurvedique treatments. The treatments are prescribed by a Vaidya or ayurvedic doctor and can be over a few days (for a compete course with specific treatments). There is a choice of options from the Kizhi (body massage with a selected herb sponge), the Uptan (Scrub based on a variety of grains, oils and herbs), the Dara (treatment involving the dripping of essential oils slowly onto your forehead from a specific height) etc. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming with ochre walls, low seating areas, cushions, dark wooden beds from India...
